Our stay in Buenos Aires was the end of our “Patagonia” adventure. Hiking in the woods to thoroughly urban Buenos Aires, Argentina. We visited some fascinating museums, saw a Spanish language performance of “Tootsie” and watched a first class tango show. Along the way, the food was great, and the prices were very reasonable. Buenos Aires is a wonderful place to top off our trip.

Our Patagonian Adventure in February, begins in Santiago, Chile. Santiago is the largest city in Chile, and has a definite big city flair. Downtown reveals its colonial origin. It is a beautiful city.
We had one full day in the city, then we on to our Patagonian Experience. Hiking up hill in the rain to see a glacier or a waterfall, yes that can happen. Mostly however it is a joyful experience. You are in glorious landscapes that confirms your love of the outdoors. That is what Patagonia is about. The scale and the magnificence of this place is impossible to show in pictures. You must experience the wind and the grandeur of Patagonia yourself to truly understand this land.

In the 1970s and early 1980s, Glasgow, Scotland, was knockabout industrial, with waning fortunes and high unemployment, and making headlines for culinary crimes like deep-fried Mars bars.
In 1983, Glasgow announced it would transform itself through culture. It wasn’t about increasing tourism, but creating a city locals could enjoy.
The results were outstanding. Glasgow was named a European Capital of Culture in 1990, a UK City of Architecture and Design in 1999, and a UNESCO City of Music in 2008. It hosted the 2014 Commonwealth Games and was named Europe’s top destination in The Cultural and Creative Cities Monitor in 2019 — ranking well above Edinburgh, the Scottish city most tourists prioritize visiting.

Bergen Norway was cold icy snowy, did I mention cold ? SSince Bergen was the end of our Norway adventure, we were here in December. While the Christmas Market was nice, and Bergen was decorated for the Holidays, You might want to be here in the warmer months. We set out on an adventure to see the Northern Lights. Along with that came an experience of winter above the Artic Circle. A primary objective in this kind of adventure is making sure we can keep from freezing ! That is easy on a cruise boat. You can see this amazing place, and at the same time, be only a few moments away from your ‘hotel.’ It was a great adventure.

Oslo, the Capitol of Norway, is a great destination. Even though in winter it can be cold, the Christmas Market, and the decorations make Oslo look and feel like the perfect location in winter. In the summer, Oslo is vibrant with everbody rushing to take advantage of the warm weather. The trip we took, on this “Talk Talk With Carl and Kacey – Oslo Norway” was in the winter and was a bit cold, but still enchanting.

We thoroughly enjoyed London as an add-on to our Turkey Adventure. London was about museums, good food and of course musical theatre. Pictures or providing audio of the actual performances is not allowed. Banners from the theaters give you a glimpse of what is to be seen on the stage. We wanted to get out during covid, plus escape the heat of Saint Louis, so a trip to Canada was the solution. On the eastern boundary of Canada are the Maritime Providences, it was a fun and balmy getaway.
