The Castle of Guimarães—often referred to as the Cradle of Portugal—is one of the most iconic medieval fortresses in the country.

Igreja do Senhor dos Passos in Guimarães. It’s renowned for its exterior azulejo tile murals, which make it visually distinct among the city’s many historic churches.


Ballroom of the Palácio da Bolsa in Porto—more formally known as the Arab Room (Sala Árabe). It’s the crown jewel of the palace and one of the most stunning interiors in Portugal.



Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios (Our Lady of Remedies) in Lamego, northern Portugal. It’s a masterpiece of Baroque and Rococo architecture, perched dramatically atop Mount Santo Estêvão, and is a major center of Marian devotion.

The Alter Stud Farm was founded in 1748 within the scope of a new horse breeding policy enacted in 1708 by King João V. The Magnanimous King was displeased at the poor state of the horse stock in his kingdom and wanted Portugal to produce its own Haute Ecole riding horses instead of importing them from abroad. The farm now includes rooms and a restaurant along with pools and a sort of peaceful tranquil atmosphere.

The Igreja de São Domingos in Lisbon is one of the city’s most historically charged and visually haunting churches. Located just off Rossio Square, it’s a place where beauty, tragedy, and resilience converge. The church burned and was restored. Evidence of the fire remains in the building.
