The Teatro Massimo Vittorio Emanuele is an opera house and opera company located on the Piazza Verdi in PalermoSicily. It was dedicated to King Victor Emanuel II. It is the biggest in Italy, and one of the largest of Europe (at the time of its inauguration, it was – with its area of 7730 m2 – the third largest opera house in Europe after the Palais Garnier in Paris, and the K. K. Hof-Opernhaus in Vienna),[1] renowned for its perfect acoustics.

Oratorio del Rosario di Santa Cita

The Oratorio del Rosario di Santa Cita is a Baroque chapel or prayer room located in the quarter of the Castellamare within the historic center of Palermo, region of Sicily, Italy. The site is best known for the remarkable stucco tableaux scenes composed during 1687-1718 by Giacomo Serpotta.

Palazzo Sclafani

Palazzo Sclafani is a medieval former aristocratic palace located on Piazza della Vittoria #14, in Palermo, region of Sicily, Italy. Across the Piazza della Vittoria park rises the Palazzo dei Normanni and the street along the park leads in a block to the cathedral.

Opera dei Pupi

The Opera dei Pupi (Sicilianopra î pupi in Palermo, Sicilianopira î pupi in Catania;[1] English: “Opera of the Puppets”) is a marionette theatrical representation of Frankish romantic poems traditionally performed in Sicily, Italy.

Inscribed in the UNESCO‘s List of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity in 2001, it dates back to the third decade of the nineteenth century,[2] and was particularly successful among the middle and lower classes, becoming one of Sicily’s most significant expressions of history and cultural identity.
